Day 13: PUSHKAR - JAIPUR

Sunday, May 13, 2012

Today we meet at 7.30 in the morning with Mahendra at the Jagat Palace to go to the Temple of the Sun in Jaipur and of course meet another one of the most famous cities in India. The journey is about 3 hours and I do it more or less well, given the situation that I dragged for several days in this trip to india.
Roger is quite recovered, so now I'm the only one "sick."
The road to Jaipur today I do not know if it has been worse than other days, but at least I have suffered much more, perhaps because of the desire I have to reach Jaipur and see a doctor.
And once on the highway ... awesome !! Cows, goats, women, men are crossed ... on the highway! 🙂 We had not noticed before. It seems of laughter, but more than a slowdown we have sought. There are times when the situation is surreal ... well, maybe not, maybe you just have to think that we are in India!!
When we were passing through villages in India, perhaps for taking more days of travel or for my state, I have been looking at each face, in each trade, in each house ... and against more I notice, everything seems more incredible.

I had always explained many things about India, but I would never have imagined them that way.
Must be seen to be believed. If it is not impossible to imagine it. It is a journey that must be done, although in some moments it is hard.
In the end we arrived at the hotel Jaipur, the Umaid Mahal - Heritage Style Hotel, at 11 am and has not yet called us the correspondent in India, so I call insurance and after a good rapa dust for the situation, after 5 minutes they are calling us to tell us that in one hour a doctor will be at the hotel.
The truth is that the insurance has behaved wonderfully, the fault of the delay has been in the person here who has not yet called.
It shows that the moment I called Spain again, they moved from there to call me urgently.
Luhe of Mahendra who has been with us at all times and has helped us with all the calls. From the beginning he told us that he stayed with us to help us in everything we need.
There has been a time when we had 3 people calling us on cell phones and the hotel.
It is noted that the "half-anger" has had immediate effect.
And finally the doctor has come !!
He has asked me all the symptoms and see where you turn out to be an infection ... And this is how wide the man has stayed :))
He has sent me a whole arsenal of medications and now, after 3 hours, I have to say that I feel much better! I am almost cured !!! Of course, I have to take 8 pills daily :))
I have even eaten 3 toast at noon! A record so far.
They have called us from the insurer to see how everything had gone and then the doctor from Spain to verify that everything was fine.
He has been sent the diagnosis and part of everything that has been prescribed for me (which by the way the doctor already brought it and it was not necessary to go buy it anywhere).
Mahendra has been with us in the room to facilitate all things with the doctor, because although we defend ourselves in English, just like the doctor, they spoke Hindi among them and it has been the whole conversation much clearer and more concise.
Thus we have been much calmer.

Now we have met at 5 pm to leave the Umaid Mahal - Heritage Style Hotel to visit the Temple of the Sun in Jaipur or temple of the monkeys... then I will explain how the experience went.
And it's after :)) And the experience has been ... great! It shows that I feel much better and I see things from another perspective and another color.
The first Temple we go to is the Sun Temple, better known as the temple of the monkeys. Seeing this description, the truth is that I have been a bit reluctant with the visit.
It has reminded me of last year in Bali, when a treacherous monkey who stole the sunglasses and had a hard time recovering them.
But well, as everything must be seen to judge it, we pay 100 rupees for the 2 cameras and “p 'inside” that we are leaving.
And I can't say anything else that we loved. The site is very quiet, although there is a lot of tourist and local pilgrim ... and above all it has a special charm.

We are just under 1 hour in the Sun Temple in Jaipur or Temple of the Apes and when we left we met a lot of people who come to visit him. It is clear that as we have been told, it is a well-known pilgrimage site.
On the way to the Birla Mandir Temple, we meet many peacocks, it is amazing to see how such an spectacular animal mixes with the garbage accumulated in the streets.
This is something we meet every day on our walks, when we drive ... This is India... the country of contrasts.

We are late in arriving at Jaipur something more than 15 minutes before a traffic impossible to believe.
We had been told that Jaipur it was a very ugly city, but we are liking it 🙂 Maybe it's because in a few hours I have gone from being made a rag to be fine, but I say again, that now I see it all pink ... :) And never rather in this city.
We arrive at the Temple and after taking off our shoes, we have been admiring the marble structure for a while.
Here, as in the Temple of the Monkeys, we met many tourists, but all locals, we did not cross more than 4 "guides" like us.

Now that it is time for dinner, although I am a little hungry, I prefer not to knock on anyone's door and be cautious, so we go to the Umaid Mahal - Heritage Style Hotel to eat a peeled and rolled rice and rest for tomorrow.
If everything continues as now ... I will be in top form to return to "live" India!!!!
